Suzanne Q Evon

North Carolina artist Suzanne Q Evon has always been fascinated by medieval metalwork and architecture. While attending Parsons School of Design she became especially proficient at wax carving, a skill that led to the founding of Q Evon Design in 1992.

After ten years of growth in her jewelry design enterprise, she decided that she wanted to expand her skills and move in a new artistic direction. To that end she began studying privately with a master metalsmith, an activity she has continued to the present day. As a result, her work has evolved to include a rich variety of metalworking techniques: fabrication, granulation, acid etching, reticulation, and casting of gold, silver, and argentium. Suzanne has found that "incorporating a wide variety of methods brings about a richness in texture that gives each piece the unique and timeless quality that I strive for in my work."

Her latest collections combine both gold and silver with an emphasis on texture and custom-cut gemstones. "Reticulation, anti-clastic raising, acid etching, granulation, roller printing, and the ancient art of keum-boo are combined to create rich metal tapestry. Each piece is as unique as the individual who chooses to wear my designs."
